A short distance from the sea, the Masseria Palombara is a typical building built in the late 1800s, overlooking Salve, part of the hot southern Salento.
Its function has always been to provide accommodation for local workers. There were so many families of farmers who lived in the masseria, like a small community. They used to farm the immense fields of wine and fig trees and vigilantly tend to the herds.
Today, after years of abandon, it has been refurbished and taken back to its ancient glory (recreating the original architecture), in order to offer hospitality to anyone wishing to spend a very pleasant holiday in a beautiful, natural environment full of splendid white sand beaches. During the day you can go sightseeing in well-known towns like Santa Maria di Leuca, Otranto, Gallipoli and the beautiful Lecce.
Nature and countryside lovers will be happy to know that not only do we offer marmalade, jam and ORGANIC products, but we also offer Millefiori honey from our bees, not to mention our special oil and flour (called “Senatore Cappelli”). It is a particular variety of durum wheat, with a high percentage of lipids, amino acids, vitamins and mineral salts, but with a low gluten content.
